PRESS RELEASE

Black Star Fund Brokers Groundbreaking Jersey Patch Partnership Between Portfolio Company Reviver and the Sacramento Kings

-- Partnership puts the world’s first digital license plate on the national stage --

Sacramento, CA, November 5, 2024 – The Sacramento Kings revealed a transformative jersey patch partnership with Black Star Fund portfolio company Reviver, the creator of the world’s first digital license plate, at their season opener last Thursday, October 24th. For the 2024-2025 NBA season, the Kings will showcase Reviver on home and away jerseys and throughout Golden 1 Center.

Reviver, a Sacramento-based company, modernizes vehicles by providing digital registration renewal, personalization features, and more through its two flagship products — the RPLATE license plate for everyday drivers and the RFLEET for commercial fleets.

This new partnership is set to significantly expand Reviver’s reach, positioning the brand in front of new potential customers through the visibility and prestige of the Kings platform.

"We are incredibly excited to team up with the Sacramento Kings as their Official Patch Partner," said Neville Boston, Founder and Chief Strategy Officer of Reviver. "This partnership, made possible through Black Star Fund, reflects our shared vision of innovation, diversity, and forward-thinking leadership. Both Reviver and the Kings are pushing boundaries in our respective industries, and together, we will amplify our tech-driven solutions to impact diverse communities."

In 2019, Reviver was a contestant in the Kings fourth annual Capitalize: Technology competition, where founder Neville Boston was introduced to Kwame Anku the Founding Managing Partner and Chief Investment Officer of Black Star Fund. Over the years, the two have continued to work together bringing Reviver to full production.

"This jersey patch partnership with Reviver continues the Kings long tradition of using our global platform to promote innovation and technology,” said Sacramento Kings Owner and Chairman Vivek Ranadivé. “It’s particularly exciting to showcase a homegrown company that was part of our Kings Capitalize program. This is just the beginning of our work together, and we look forward to helping Reviver in its mission to modernize the driving experience."

"This partnership exemplifies the growing influence of Sacramento's business community on a national stage, and we are excited to see the profound impact this deal will have, not just for Reviver, but for the entire region," said Anku. “It’s a testament to what we can achieve when we leverage our local business ecosystem to create opportunities that resonate far beyond our borders.”
